L'ispirazione alla base del progetto: "Aveva ideato un braccio verticale fisso e una scatola cilindrica con una fessura per la luce, che si alzava e si abbassava: la si bloccava con una vite. Ha poi sostituito il braccio con un cavo metallico che, piegandosi, crea attrito e permette alla lampada di rimanere in posizione senza bisogno di viti."
