SAMENVATTING
Er ontstaat een vacuüm in lagen die bestaan uit heet, wit en helder glas met koperen gaas ertussen. Door het vacuüm wordt de witte laag door het ingebedde gaas heen getrokken, waardoor er talloze slierten wit glas in een tussenruimte blijven hangen.
Houd er rekening mee dat het koperen gaas dat erin wordt gebruikt, kan worden aangetast door hitte en oxidatie tijdens het glasblaasproces. Deze kleine geoxideerde randen kunnen soms loskomen in de hanger; dit is een natuurlijk kenmerk van het metaal en wordt gezien als een evolutie van het stuk naarmate het ouder wordt.
