Die Inspiration hinter dem Design: „Er hatte die Idee zu einem festen vertikalen Ausleger und einem zylindrischen Kasten mit einem Schlitz für die Lampe, der sich auf und ab bewegen ließ und mit einer Schraube fixiert wurde. Er ersetzte den Ausleger durch ein Metallseil, das beim Biegen Reibung erzeugt und es ermöglicht, die Lampe ohne Schrauben in Position zu bringen.“
